Andrew Chiu, MD, Medical Director
Dr. Andrew Chiu received his MD degree from Oregon Health Sciences University School of Medicine in 1988.  He completed two years of General Surgery and three years of Anesthesiology residency training at Sinai Hospital of Detroit with clinical subspecialty training in Pediatric Anesthesiology.  Dr. Chiu completed two additional one year fellowships in Regional Anesthesia and Pain Management at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle.  Dr. Chiu is ASA Board Certified in both Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine.

Following training, Dr Chiu spent four years in a full-time private pain practice in Spokane, WA before coming back to his home town of Portland.  In Portland, he joined the teaching staff at OHSU as an Assistant Professor in Anesthesiology and Pain Management.  At OHSU he served as Director of the Acute Pain Service.  In 2002 Dr. Chiu joined OAG to practice both adult and pediatric anesthesiology at Emanuel Hospital and pain management at the Emanuel Pain Clinic.  Dr. Chiu specializes in Interventional Pain Medicine and also has additional training in Medical Acupuncture and Pediatric Pain Management.  In 2007 he became Medical Director for OAG Interventional Pain Consultants.

R. Scott Brown, MD
Dr. Brown is a Montana native who is board certified in both Interventional Chronic Pain Management and Anesthesiology. He completed his anesthesia residency at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas in 1993. He held the position of Assistant Director of Cardiac Anesthesia at Brooke Army Medical Center Anesthesia Residency Program in San Antonio, Texas from 1993-96 and at the same time completed his post graduate specialty training in Chronic Pain Management in conjunction with the University of Texas at San Antonio. He subsequently spent one year as Assistant Professor of Pain Medicine and Anesthesia at the University of Texas Southwestern prior to moving to Portland in 1997. He is involved in all aspects of pain medicine but emphasizes neuraxial injections and stimulation in combination with physical therapy to correct underlying biomechanical dysfunction. Dr. Brown has served as a volunteer in 12 countries, working and lecturing on pain management and anesthesia. He is fluent in Spanish and also speaks Russian.

Mark Kallgren, MD
Dr. Kallgren is a nationally recognized expert in Pain Medicine.  After graduating from the University of Arizona, College of Medicine in 1989, Dr. Kallgren completed his Residency in Anesthesiology and a Fellowship in Pain Medicine at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in San Antonio.  Dr. Kallgren is Board Certified in both Pain Medicine and Anesthesiology and welcomes referrals from neurosurgeons, internists, chiropractors, physical therapists, and other specialists. Dr. Kallgren specializes in all aspects of spinal pain care: transforaminal and translaminar epidural injections, facet injections, radiofrequency procedures, SI joint injections,trigger point injections, Botox, and implantable therapies including spinal cord stimulation. Mark Norling, MD
Dr. Norling, a native Oregonian and diehard Duck fan, received his MD degree from Oregon Health Sciences University School of Medicine in 1987. He served an Internal Medicine Internship at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke's Medical Center and completed his Anesthesiology Residency at the University of Illinois Medical Center in 1991.

Dr. Norling is Board Certified in both Pain Medicine and Anesthesiology and primarily manages disorders of the spine including herniated discs, spinal stenosis, facet pain and more, using interventional pain management techniques.

He is the Medical Director of the NW Ambulatory Surgery Center and currently serves as the Secretary for the Oregon Society of Anesthesiologists.

Stuart Rosenblum, MD, PhD
Dr Rosenblum opened the first pain clinic at Legacy Emanuel Hospital 15 years ago after completing his PhD and MD in Oregon and specialty training in Anesthesia & Pain Medicine at the University of Virginia. He is involved with all aspects of pain management and has recently been focused on the development of an algorithm for the treatment of non-cancer pain, an assessment tool for breakthrough pain, and a new risk assessment screening tool. Dr Rosenblum is a frequent lecturer on topics including cancer and non-cancer pain. Recent presentations have been for the Pain Society of Oregon, the Physicians for Medical Excellence, and the Oregon Board of Medical Examiners. He also participates on numerous speakers’ bureaus and chairs Oregon Anesthesiology Group's Pain Medicine Committee.

Sharon Wilkins, BSN, RN, Clinic Manager
Sharon obtained her nursing degree from Arizona State University.  Her successful nursing career includes experience in trauma care, critical and intensive care and an extensive background in pain medicine.  Between 1993-1999 Sharon worked as the Program Administrator of the Advanced Pain Management Group in Portland where she served as both the implant and program coordinator. Prior to joining OAG Interventional Pain Consultants, Sharon worked as the manager of the Legacy Emanuel Pain Clinic.
