Legacy Good Samaritan's primary service area is inner Northwest Portland, but its service area extends throughout the Portland metropolitan area in its role as a regional medical center.
  • Legacy Good Samaritan is a member of the Health Columbia Willamette Collaborative, a collaboration between fifteen hospitals, four public health agencies, and two Coordinated Care Organizations in the Portland metropolitan area. Through that partnership, Legacy Good Samaritan participated in the 2019 Healthy Columbia Willamette Collaborative regional Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA).
  • In 2019, Legacy Health provided over $466 million in community benefit in Oregon and SW Washington. Community Benefit includes charity care, medical education and research, and benefits to the community.   • In 2021, the Federal government awarded three Legacy hospitals for delivering five-star quality care to our communities. Legacy Good Samaritan Medical Center in Portland, Legacy Meridian Park Medical Center in Tualatin and Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center in Clark County, Wash., were all recognized for their five-star quality care. Their quality was measured using five categories: mortality, safety of care, readmission, patient experience, and timely and effective care.
