Dr. Axelrod attended Stanford University in Stanford, California, where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Economics. She then attended Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, where she received her Doctor of Medicine, and the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, where she completed her residency in Anesthesiology, and was Chief Resident. While there, Dr. Axelrod also completed a fellowship in regional/acute pain. Dr. Axelrod was Associate Director of Anesthesiology Residency and a Clinical Educator at the University of Utah while practicing Anesthesiology.
