Derick completed a Doctor of Nursing Practice with an emphasis in Nurse Anesthesia at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. His background includes a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the same institution, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with a minor in Chemistry from Western Washington University.

Derick has trained in diverse settings ranging from high-acuity trauma centers to rural hospitals with independent CRNA practice. Prior to entering anesthesia training, he worked as an ICU travel nurse at facilities across California and Arizona and previously served in the cardiovascular ICU at Swedish Medical Center in Seattle. This broad clinical background reflects a deep commitment to patient care and professional excellence in critical care and anesthesia.
