Biography

Dr. Stencel earned his Doctor of Medicine from Oregon Health & Science University after graduating magna cum laude from Oregon State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry/Biophysics and minors in Spanish, Music, and Chemistry.

Dr. Stencel completed his anesthesiology residency at Boston Medical Center, New England's largest Level I trauma center and safety-net hospital, where he gained extensive experience caring for patients with complex medical needs. His training included high-volume trauma, high-risk obstetrics, pediatric anesthesia, and advanced airway management, along with robust point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) training for regional anesthesia and perioperative diagnostics. Throughout his residency, he also mentored medical students, trained junior residents, and led educational conferences, demonstrating his commitment to clinical excellence, leadership, and medical education.
