Dr. Hoang completed a fellowship in Critical Care Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee, following his anesthesiology residency at Strong Memorial Hospital at the University of Rochester. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and his Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Society from Cornell University.
Dr. Hoang has a strong background in clinical research, quality improvement, and academic medicine. His research has explored topics ranging from outcomes in emergent neurosurgical procedures to neuroimaging and the effects of pituitary tumors on the brain. His work has contributed to multiple peer-reviewed publications, and he has presented on topics in anesthesiology and critical care at national professional meetings.
Throughout his training, Dr. Hoang has also demonstrated a commitment to education, service, and patient care, serving on the University of Rochester Medical Center Resuscitation Committee and participating in initiatives focused on reducing medical waste and expanding access to medical supplies. His experience also includes mentoring young students in science and previous certification as a New York State Emergency Medical Technician.
