Shanna Yang, MD

Dr. Yang completed a fellowship in Anesthesiology Critical Care Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee, following her anesthesiology residency at the University of Rochester Medical Center in Rochester, New York. She earned her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry and her Bachelor of Arts in Biology, magna cum laude, from Carleton College.

Dr. Yang’s clinical and academic interests include critical care medicine, perioperative care, transfusion medicine, and the management of complex critically ill patients. Her research has included evaluating a critical thromboelastography (TEG) callback system and investigating challenging clinicopathologic cases. She has presented clinical research at national anesthesiology conferences and has been involved in ICU-focused initiatives and quality improvement efforts. She is passionate about collaborative, evidence-based care and bringing a thoughtful, multidisciplinary approach to the care of surgical and critically ill patients.
